Plastic Free July

Our mission, Create Things to Change Things, doesn’t just apply to our creativity, but also to our sustainability as well. We’re always looking for ways to reduce the footprint and environmental impact of our work.

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps everyone be part of the solution to plastic pollution by choosing to refuse single-use plastics. As a team, we wanted to participate in the month, and focused our efforts on the key message of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

We set ourselves a coffee cup challenge, tallying each team member’s use of single-use vs. reusable coffee cups. At the end of the month, the team member with the highest amount of single-use coffee cups will be shouting the whole team (you guessed it) coffee!

We also wanted to take the opportunity to share a project we're particularly proud of...

Clients often come to us requesting swag - who doesn't love some branded merch! But we never like creating stuff that's just going to turn to waste and make our environment even more unhappy. So when LAVO asked for some swag, we went out of our way to source products that reduce, reuse or recycle as much as possible.

The LAVO Tote was made from organic cotton fibre to help the team reduce plastic bag usage and use the tote as a carry all, for everything.

The LAVO Bottle was co-branded with @oceanbottle and each reusable bottle saves 11.4kg of plastic, equivalent to 1,000 plastic bottles, ending up in oceans.

The LAVO Rain Mac is constructed with @repreve - a trusted, performance fibre, that's created from recycled materials after collecting discarded plastic bottles and breaking them down into flakes.

We showcased this work on our Instagram and paired it with a quiz to test our followers' knowledge on Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Dive into our highlight stories @wearestudioair to test your knowledge and join us in making a difference!
